Welcoming Sal Scheibe!

We are excited to announce that artist Sal Scheibe has joined Squigglefly.  You will get to see her artwork this Saturday when Squigglefly launches their November images!  She draws such an amazing variety of things and we know you are going to fall in love with her artwork.  Here's a little about Sal.

Sal Scheibe works as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer who loves to draw and create fun illustrations. Prior to freelance illustrating, she worked as a creative for a firm working with TV and advertising clients. Sal spends her nights drawing geeky things like RPG characters, zombies, fairies, awkward people, pretty girls and odd animals. She offers a broad range of fun digital stamps in many themes from geeky to cute and whimsical to realistic. Her digital stamps start life as sketchy little doodles which are then cleaned up digitally in Photoshop and made presentable and perfect for you. Sal's favorite tools are Wacom pen and tablet as well as Copic markers, lots of fine liners and many types of erasers (which are used often). Her favorite artists include John Singer Sargent, Norman Rockwell, JC Leyendecker, Joe Sorren and Phil Hale. And Steve Epting too, and Fiona Staples.

Let's start with some great examples from the Holley Hobbyists:

Kecia Waters  created this amazing card using an image from Squigglefly artist Lynne Stansbery.  This image is called Come and Get it. How stunning is her coloring?  Be sure you go to the Squigglefly site and check out this stamp because Kecia changed that stamp into a Halloween theme image, how clever!!  Oh, so perfect!

Elizabeth Hart made a wonderful card  this week using a brand new stamp from Squigglefly artist Sandra Caldwell.  Just perfect for that boy at Halloween.  Don't you love the colors?  This cuties is Lil Frankie. I  love how she added striped orange on one side and striped green on the other side of the image!

Jen Leeflang created this beautifully made card with gorgeous lace and beautiful coloring.  This sweet image is from artist Fawn Palmer and is called Baby Cowgirl.  It comes with an adorable sayings about princess' and cowgirls.

Darlene Pavlick created this fun fall football (now say that three times fast) theme card using a great new image called Touchdown.  This cute image is from Cheryl Alger. Looks like he is going to make the touchdown! Go Fall!

Tammy Hair created this gorgeous Halloween theme card using a new image from Sandra Caldwell. Isn't her coloring amazing?  This cute image is called What Witch.   I just love the bling in just the right spot, the tiny polka dots and the stitching.

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog) have a wonderful image from artist Sandra Caldwell called Miss Fancie Stein.  I also added a hilarious sentiment from Squigglefly to the card called I date zombies.  How perfect is that?

Squigglefly Challenge #40, SFC4014 Leave me be

Welcome to the Squigglefly Challenge Blog!

Hello everyone! Welcome to this week's Squigglefly Challenge. First let's announce last week's winner.  Last week, our challenge was to use polka dots on your card.   The winner is Olga who used a dapper gentleman called Well, Helloooo from artist Lynne Stansbery.

This week's winner can please contact Holly at usyungs@gmail.com for your prize.
 -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This week's challenge is SFC4014 Leave Me Be

This week's challenge has a dual meaning.  You can either choose to use leaves on your card, add leaves as embellishments, leaves on the paper, leaves in your image OR you can do something in more of a travel type theme, such as leaving, going on a trip.  Either way, we can't wait to see what you create. We'd love for you to use a Squigglefly image, to be prize eligible it's required, but everyone is welcome to play along.

Let's start with some great examples from the Holley Hobbyists:

Pat Martin created this gorgeous Baseball theme card with gorgeous leaf paper and embellishment.  This wonderful image comes from artist Cheryl Alger and is called All American.  Not only does this card have fall leaves, but I bet this hitter is getting ready for some travel (ie. running for first base!)

Kecia Waters  created this adorable card using a new image from Squigglefly artist Cheryl Alger.  This image is called Home Run Hitter. How beautiful is that stitching! That ball is going to travel right out of the park.

Elizabeth Hart designed this gorgeous card using a brand new stamp from Squigglefly artist Angela Charles called Fall Basket.  Don't you love the all the layers?  She has adorable leaves on the paper in the background, leaves in her floral embellishment as well as leaves in her image!

Jen Leeflang created this beautifully made card.  This sweet image is from artist Cheryl Alger and is called Hows About a Hug..  Isn't her layout great?  That sentiment is just perfect for this card.

Darlene Pavlick created this lovely fall theme card using a great image from Squigglefly artist Angela Charles. This image is called  Umbrella Girl.  She added fun leaf papers, beautiful die cut leaves and leaves in her sentiment.  I would even consider this a bit of a travel theme card with this cute little girl, looks like she is off on a walk with her umbrella!

Tammy Hair created this adorable using a new image from artist Cheryl Alger. This cute image is  called Cheer Your Heart Out.   Give me and F, Give me an A, Give me L, Give me an L, GO FALL!

And lastly, I (Holley Barnhart from Holley's Blog) have a wonderful new image from artist Cheryl Alger called Bountiful Blessings.  This fun image comes with four sentiments as well (not shown).  I added leaf theme paper, leaves on my image, leaf theme sentiments at the base, and tiny enamel leaves under the image.  I also think of this fun image as having a bit of a travel theme as I just imagine her pulling that pumpkin across the countryside.
I hope these cards have inspired you to make a card to play along this week.  You are always welcome to play no matter what images you use, but to be eligible for the prize, please use at least one stamp from Squigglefly!
